From reading "Warm Bodies," we can get a sense of humanity somewhere in the texts. One of the things that popped up was the similarities to humanity. We see glimpses where we can compare humanity to zombies because of the utilitarian views, living vs dead, and the role of the government. In "Warm Bodies," we can see the government controlling the humans by isolating them in the stadium and they think that this is good for them but they don't know that they are just trapping them in. We see the utilitarian views when we see Perry talk about his dream of writing but instead is forced to something valuable so he becomes a security guard. They have the notion that if you are doing something that isn't going to help you survive then you shouldn't be doing it. We also see this in "28 Days Later" when the government officials want to keep the women because they will reproduce and help build society again. In a way, we get a sense of how humans think by seeing that many people believe that we are just living just to do something that is suppose to be better for the future. Humans are alive but we can't really tell if they are living. Example we see from the text is from the boneys and how we see that many humans from the text can relate to the boneys even thought they are alive. We see their physical similarities as well as their mental similarities from Julie's father. Julie's father believes that following orders and doing things as they are is the way to go but he doesn't realize that he has already lost his humanness in this action because he no longer feels compassion and emotions for others.
