The Father Thing

This was one of my favorite stories from Philip K Dick.  PKD has the ability to jump in the story with no boundaries or rules.  He introduced the problem practically in the first or second paragraph, which really caught my attention.  I became interested in wanting to know why Charles, the little boy, did not want to call in his so called Father in for dinner.  I wanted to know why Charler's "Father" was talking to himself and how Charles was so upset.  As mentioned in lecture, it's remarkable how three young children joined together in the fight to find the real Father.  It really shows how although they are young, their great imaginations empowered them to eventually find what caused the death of the Father.   It really brings up the question about his Mother and how she did not trust her son or was on his side at all.  Adults are really the ones that are oblivious to danger at times, not just children.
