Yellow Wallpaper

Out of the readings for the past week or so, " The Yellow Wallpaper," stood out the most. Told from the point of view from an unknown narrator who writes her thoughts in secrecy, the narration allows a glimpse into the narrator's state of mind. Throughout the story her mental state is deteriorating  She is confined to a room that she thinks used to be a nursery, however with the strange characteristics of the barred windows and a nailed down furniture, it seems as if the room was used to house an insane person. The narrator and the women in the wallpaper or covered by the wallpaper were connected, but the narrator didn't make that connection until the end, " I've got out at last...pulled off most of the paper, so you can't put me back."  The pattern of the paper that transformed into bars was the structure put in place to oppress women, and that mainly relates to men.
