Some of the characters within the three readings of
yesterday’s set seem to have qualities of insanity and I question whether or
not anything supernatural happened to them. Out of the three readings, I feel
the most bothered by “The Little Room.” Because multiple people experienced
having seen the little room, it makes it harder for me to say that everyone who
saw the room is crazy. The changes from the little room to a china
cabinet are not odd to me in the story. I find that a lot of the
creepiness comes from the aunts. Their recollection of the events seem to
change often, and I am not too sure if it is on purpose. Not knowing why their recollection changes
is unsettling to me. Is the other sister’s echoing supposed to represent the
willingness of people to follow whatever they hear? I am not sure, but if the
constant change comes from sinister reasons, this could be a frightening reflection of society.
